This study aims to investigate the relationship between job satisfaction and organizational commitment among 206 employees in the Guinean mining sector. Organizational commitment is measured using the revised version of the three-component model developed by Meyer, Allen, and Smith (1993), while job satisfaction is measured using the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (short-form). A positive and significant association (r = 0.46, p < 0.01) is found between organizational commitment and job satisfaction, supporting the argument that highly satisfied workers are more committed to their organization. The findings also show that organizational commitment is positively and significantly associated with both extrinsic job satisfaction and intrinsic job satisfaction. Finally, the study also highlights a positive and significant association between job satisfaction and each dimension of organizational commitment, as well as a positive and significant correlation between the dimensions of job satisfaction and those of organizational commitment.
