ABSTRACT
This research is aimed at investigating
and studying the impact of the prevailing organizational culture on decision-making
at Kuwait University. The analytical descriptive approach was used to collect and
analyzes data from a sample of 127 leaders who currently occupy leadership positions
and others who have left and return to their previous work as faculty members in
Kuwait University. This study has reached a set of results based on the study. One
of the most important of these results the convergence of the evaluation of both
university leaders and faculty members of the nature of the organization culture
prevailing in the administrative climate at Kuwait University. The study also found
that both leaders and faculty members believe that the higher the quality of the
organizational culture domains prevailing in the university, the better the administrative
decision-making process with all its components. This contributes to the growth
of organizational culture and improved decision-making process at Kuwait University.
The study also found that national cultures only partially influence decision-making
process in a certain environment. This study recommends to the management policy-makers
that they should understand the nature of decision. They should also have an understanding
of the prevailing organizational culture in order to add value to effectiveness
and implementation of decision-making process, through an impact based decision-making
process.
