Standardization of High Quality Wheat in Henan Province of China

Henan Province is the largest wheat producing area inChina. Wheat planting area, gross output and contribution to our nation all occupy the first place inChina. The ratio of the whole province wheat-growing land is 19.5% of the total area of whole country; the gross output inHenanwas 24.5% of native yield in 2001. Especially during recent years, bumper harvests were seen for several years in succession. Annual wheat yield is more than 20 billion kilograms since 1996 for six years continuously, and the highest is up to 23.72 billion kilograms in history. These data indicate that the wheat production inHenanenters a new stage. High quality wheat production affects the adjustment of agricultural producing structure, increasing farmers’ income and improving the Province wheat market competitive ability. So keeping abreast of the latest situation of high quality wheat standard production is especially important.
