ABSTRACT

Course term paper is an important way to assess students’ learning effect and check teachers’ teaching effect. This paper analyzes and discusses the test paper design and test results of academic English reading and writing course so as to improve the quality of academic English teaching. Academic English reading and writing ability plays an indispensable role in international academic exchanges activities. To cultivate non-English majors’ ability to read and write research articles, academic English reading and writing course has been conducted in many universities. This study focuses on the reading part of one term paper of academic reading and writing course in University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, finding that more importance should be attached to reading question type, reading material, and academic vocabulary.
